Corporate Business (CB) Transformation Program aimed at modernizing core platforms, enhancing customer experience, and driving operational efficiencies. As part of this program, we require specialist Quality Assurance (QA) Associates with deep expertise in the South African employee benefits, retirement, and risk insurance domain.
This RFQ seeks proposals from qualified vendors to supply QA professionals who can independently drive testing activities across multiple streams and applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless delivery.
2. Project/Program Description
The CB Transformation Program involves:
- Migrating Risk products from legacy to new environment.
- Migrating Retirement products between platforms. – this would be a new product launch and not a migration
- Building a Retirement & Risk Quote and Billing tool.
- Digitalizing claims processes with Straight-Through Processing (STPs).
- Integrating claims with workflow tools for operational efficiency.
- Enhancing Self-Service Portal (SSP) to provide members, employers, and financial advisers with seamless digital interactions.
- Leveraging the Operational Data Store (ODS) (via Denodo and a canonical data model) to deliver accurate, real-time information from multiple source systems into the SSP and other downstream platforms.
- Designing and delivering MIS reports and client-facing reports based on ODS to support both internal external stakeholder engagement.
The program touches critical functions including onboarding, billing, premiums, inflows, outflows, claims, accounting, and financial reporting. It requires QA resources who are self-driven, proactive, and able to collaborate with business stakeholders.
3. Scope of Work
The QA Associate(s) will be responsible for:
- Reviewing and analyzing business requirements.
- Designing detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
- Coordinating reviews and obtaining sign-off from Business Analysts (BAs) and business stakeholders.
- Executing test cycles, documenting results, and raising defects in Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Preparing QA reports and presenting findings to project stakeholders.
- Driving end-to-end functional testing across employee benefits, retirement, and risk domains.
- Hosting demo sessions and conducting business user education workshops.
- Documenting functional processes for future reference.
- Raising risks and issues promptly with clear mitigation recommendations.
4. Skills & Competency Requirements
Mandatory Skills
- Strong domain knowledge of Employee Benefits, Risk, and Investment Products in the South African retirement fund environment.
- Hands-on expertise in:
- New business onboarding
- Billing and premiums management
- Inflows and outflows
- Claims (risk and retirement)
- Accounting processes
- Financial and regulatory reporting
- Life, Death, Disability, Funeral product and related experience
- Experience with Policy Administration Systems and workflow tools.
- Strong experience in QA methodologies, writing test cases, and driving test execution.
- Working experience with Azure DevOps (ADO).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in working with large data set for Management Information and client based report
- Experience in working with Power BI report testing
- Experience understanding of large data, Operational Data stores and cloud data sets
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on experience with FIS Compass policy administration system.
- Exposure to large-scale system migrations and digital transformation programs.
- UFT Automation scripting skills and willing to upskill and cross skill.
