Responsibilities and Job Functions
The successful candidate will be required to:
- Manage the creation and maintenance of solution architecture artefacts including patterns, components, business process models and information structures
- Review and approve problem statements and the design of integrated enterprise solutions to address requirements across multiple value streams and various information technology and business disciplines
- Ensure project requirements are adhered to and solution blueprints are produced that enable project teams to develop systems that are robust, flexible, scalable, secure, and that support enterprise strategic initiatives
- Review documentation relevant to the business solution architecture function
- Develop business, information and technology governance standards, such as code reviews, design reviews, and architectural reviews
- Consult with enterprise architects, client portfolio leads and systems analysts to ensure business solutions adhere to, and are supportive of, technical enterprise standards, architectures and strategies
- Manage the development of capabilities that are of importance to business architecture, for example enterprise integration services; and
- Review business solution designs based on business, information and technology
The general skills required for this position are:
- Solid understanding of application and system monitoring, application development and or testing
- Solid experience in developing business solutions architecture plans
- Proven ability to deliver business architecture solution conforming with a defined enterprise architecture
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle, integration and procedures
- Solid knowledge of frameworks and standards for business solution architecture
- Excellent written and facilitation skills; and
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, quickly changing and sometimes unstructured environment
The technical skills required for this position are:
- Solid knowledge and experience with industry controls and frameworks
- Solid knowledge and understanding of business modelling practices
- Solid knowledge and understanding of business architectural methodologies and tools; and
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
The qualifications and experience related to this position are:
- Appropriate and recognised formal information technology, finance, economics or business strategy / development; or business solution architect related tertiary qualification; and
- Experience of seven (7) – fifteen (15) years within a business solutions architect role with at least two (2) years management experience
Experience in at least two of the following areas, but with knowledge of all:
- Business solution architecture;
- Enterprise business functions;
- Business and system process integration;
- Change management; and
- Communication.
